Purpose and eligibility
Do not assume the familiar October–November entry window or May results for DV-2027: the State Department publishes separate announcements. Its current fee table lists a USD 1 registration fee for the principal entrant and a USD 330 visa fee for each selected applicant. Check the specific programme instructions before entering or paying.
Documents to prepare
This preparation checklist is indicative. Final requirements depend on nationality, status and application location; follow the competent authority’s instructions.
- Country of birth, education or qualifying work experience under the relevant programme year’s rules.
- Family details and photographs of everyone included; passport information and other documents under current instructions.
- After registration, retain the confirmation number; after selection, prepare the visa-stage documentation.

- Prepare truthful details and compliant photographs; avoid duplicate entries in the same programme year.
- Keep your confirmation number and check Entrant Status Check yourself; follow the separate visa procedure if selected.

Appointment availability, document preparation and application processing are separate stages. Check current times and fees for your country and application location. Government fees, translations, insurance and document preparation services are separate costs where applicable. Neither an issue date nor a favourable decision can be guaranteed.
Frequently asked questions
Can selection or visa issuance be guaranteed?
No. An intermediary cannot influence random selection or guarantee a consular decision. Check results through the official Entrant Status Check.
What changed regarding the DV issuance pause?
The State Department’s 31 August 2026 update says the December 2025 pause ceased to apply from 28 August 2026. An older FAQ remains on the same page; check the latest notices and case-specific instructions.
