For work, check the specific employment basis: a D visa issued for employment can also authorise stay and work during its validity. This should not be assumed for every D visa issued for another purpose. A longer stay requires a separate permit procedure and is not an automatic visa extension.

Frequently asked questions
Does every Serbian D visa permit employment?
No. Work rights depend on the basis and conditions of the particular document. Employment requires checking the employment category.
Can I stay beyond 180 days?
Continuing your stay requires the appropriate status and a separate procedure. Check early: a D visa does not automatically become a long-term residence permit.
